Welcome back to a new and exciting school year at Laurentian Elementary! We hope you had a wonderful summer break filled with rest, relaxation, and quality time with loved ones. We are delighted to welcome returning and new students to our school community.

This summer, the majority of our dedicated teachers participated in an online language and literacy course focused on enhancing reading instruction. This professional development opportunity provided our educators with the latest strategies and techniques to improve literacy outcomes for all students. We are excited to implement these best practices in our classrooms and continue our commitment to fostering strong reading skills across all grade levels.

We are also excited to announce the introduction of Spanish as a specialist subject for all students in kindergarten through 5th grade this year. Learning Spanish at a young age offers several benefits for children by improving problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking.

The Laurentian Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays a vital role in supporting our school, and we need more helping hands to continue making a difference. By joining the PTA, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other parents, stay informed about school events and initiatives, and contribute to the educational experience of all our students. Your involvement, whether big or small, can help us organize events, fundraise for important projects, and provide resources that benefit every child at Laurentian Elementary.
